You don’t have to be a mother to be a midwife. You don’t have to be a midwife to be a mother.
I’ve been a midwife for 24 years and a mother for 20 years, but I’ve been me for much much longer!
My blog is mostly an excellent excuse to enjoy little rants about issues that bug me. Some more serious than others. I try to remain positive and optimistic. I will hopefully elicit the odd wry smile, sometimes even a chuckle or two.
You don’t have to be a midwife or a mother or even a woman to be my target audience though. It’s so easy to end up pigeonholed into a middle aged, middle class, female, mother echo-chamber (and I don’t deny that’s what I am) but imagine if only women read Jane Austen/the Bronte sisters/ George Elliott because they wrote from a female perspective.
